Mega, I can't help you with that regression except to say that the other option is to solve the CD function exponentially (by hand? hehe). CD is after all an exponential function. That's why nga, I thought it would be easy to liearize it.

Mega, here is the derivation of that equation (try lang):
TE= y/f(x)= output/input function
TE= y/eBx (how do u write BX as exponent?) = 1
y= eBX (exponent Beta x ito Mega)
lny=Bx (as you know ln is natural log). Ang hirap isulat dito. So sorry if this isn't clear. Good luck.\ but I think this is correct. :-). Otherwise, consult your books in econometrics. haha.

Mega, the stochastic frontier model is this y= expBx (how do u type exponent?). Basta exponent Bx. haha. When you linearize this becomes the equation ln y=Bx. This stochastic frontier model has this graph: vertical axis is your y. horiz is your x. Draw a concave from line (hindi ko ma drawing eh!)-- I'll send an excel sheet na lang later. Meron pa akong singing practice. basta it means an increase in x will increase y at a slower rate or small increment. Or with the same increases in x along that concave line, the incremental increase in in Y is smaller. Ang hirap e-explain dito! Stochastic model is the technical efficient in the production function.

Hi Mega, my thoughts about the frontier model (stochastic at that) is quite lengthy and I have to do a linear illustration of that. I don't know how to draw a graph of that here. haha. Suffice it to say from the exponential equation, you should derive the logarithmic equation because production frontier is a concave frontier. I will send my logarithmic derivation of the equation to you later.
